WMS Bandage Drive
WMS is hosting our first bandage drive to support Noah's Bandage Project. Please read below for important information and check out the video highlighting this project.
What is it?
Noah's Bandage Project supports kids fighting their battle with cancer with boxes of fun or colorful bandages. Students are encouraged to bring in boxes of COLORFUL or FUN bandages to put in the collection box in their homeroom/seminar class.
When?
February 10 - 28
*There will be a collection box at conferences as well

FILL THE RIDGE - Monday, February 10
It's time for our annual FILL THE RIDGE event for boys' basketball! This will be a fun night of basketball, friends, drawings for prizes and more! WMS will be hosting an 8th Grade Boys Basketball game on Monday, February 10 against the Paola Panthers. We are hoping to pack the gym with WMS students to support our 8th grade boys basketball team.
If students purchased a t-shirt, they will be admitted into the game with their t-shirt and their name will be entered into a drawing for prizes and gift cards throughout the night.
***If students purchased a t-shirt for the girls basketball Fill The Ridge event in November, they will be admitted into the game for free if they are wearing this year's t-shirt.
***Students can still attend without purchasing the t-shirt, students will just be charged a student admission into the game.
Students will meet in the Commons after school on game day to review expectations and sportsmanship, then will go over to the gym as a group. The JV game begins at 4:00, with the Varsity game following. Parents will need to make sure to have arrangements to pick students up at the conclusion of the games.
ROCK THE WALK
Mustangs…Get Your Walking Shoes On! Our annual Rock the Walk is coming Thursday, March 12th! This is your chance to have fun, get fit, and help make the rest of this year a great one at Wheatridge! With everyone's help we can make the WMS Rock the Walk a fun day for the whole school! Your student will receive a collection envelope, letter of explanation and prize sheet on Friday, February 7.
Please note: 100% of the funds WMS students raise will go directly to WPTO to benefit our students and teachers.
Rock the Walk will take place at WMS during school hours on Thursday, March 12th. Participation is FREE. During their elective hours, students will get the chance to walk through a variety of stations to learn about different ways to stay fit. In addition to walking/running on the track, students may also learn about power lifting, jazzercise and even go through a mini boot camp!
We are looking forward to a fun event!
Spring School Pictures
Spring school pictures are scheduled for Friday, February 21. There is no pre-payment for these pictures. Students will receive a package of pictures in a few weeks that families can choose to purchase or return.
Yearbooks On Sale
WMS yearbooks can be purchased through Skyward or in the WMS Main Office for $30 until March 13.
No Stickers on Chromebooks
The official policy is that we DO NOT allow stickers on Chromebooks. The tech office will charge them as "damaged" for anything that has a sticker on it.
PTO Dining Night at Frontera's March 4
Support the PTO by eating at Frontera's on March 4! A portion of the sales for this day will go to the PTO! Offer is good all day - no need to mention WMS or PTO.
Important Message
As a reminder, tobacco products and nicotine delivery devices (JUUL's and/or other vaping devices) are prohibited in all USD 231 buildings and outdoor facilities. This prohibition includes use during after school activities such as games, concerts, or other events.
